The Battle of Pharsalus |
In 48BCE, Caesar and Gnaeus Pompey met in central Greece in what was to be the final battle of their Civil War. Although Pompey had the advantage in troops, Caesar won the battle and Pompey was forced to flee. He was killed when he arrived in Egypt a few weeks later.
