The Arch of Titus
Found at the entrance to the Forum Romanum along the Via Sacra, this
monument commemorates the victory of Titus in the Judean campaign of 69 A.D.
and was erected some time after his death in 81 A.D. The inscription on the
attic reads
SENATUS POPULUSQUE ROMANUS
DIVO TITO DIVI VESPASIANI F VESPASIANO AUGUSTO
