You enter a large, elegant room that Cornelia and Paullus used for lavish dinner parties. Cornelia decorated the walls with paintings of flowers, greenery, birds and fountains, and the floral motif of the elaborate mosaic floor continues the garden theme. The centerpiece of the mosaic depicts Selene, goddess of the moon, falling in love with the sleeping Endymion, a handsome young shepherd.
