Overhead a series of arches form vaults which cover all four sides of the Basilica Julia in two rows (compare these ruins). The bases of these arches are cruciform piers made of brick with marble veneers. The double porticoes form two aisles all around the central hall, where the jurors are assembling and hearing law cases today. Enter through one of these arches if you wish to see the interior of this great basilica.
