Zadar's Theater [J. Gruber-Miller]
You emerge onto the diazoma separating the lower tier of seats from the upper. The bright sunlight glints off the marble seats, but the seats are cool to the touch. As you look down toward the stage, you see a magnificent scaenae frons, three stories high, pierced with niches framed by columns. In the niches are statues of Antoninus Pius and his family. Please sit down. A pantomime is about to begin.
