Pronaos of Venus

You have walked around the temple to its eastern front, climbed the steps of the platform and passed through the columns of the entrance porch. If you look behind you, you can see the eastern colonnade of the precinct. Above it looms the statue of the Colossus and a bit further east rises the exterior wall of the Colosseum. In front of you is an enormous door covered in bronze. It stands open, so you can pass through into the cella beyond.
