MEN'S SLAVE QUARTER

Far on the end of the PERISTYLE you come to the MEN'S SLAVE QUARTERS which seem to be isolated from the rest of the house, to the extent that the door was even smaller. As you enter and adjust to the darkness, you notice the earthen floor and the crude WALL PAINTING. Everything in the room accentuates the striking differences between this area and the main house, such marginalization. You realize that most guests, if not all, would never see this area, so the lack of luxury and basic furnishings would never be seen. You quickly glance around and then move on, not wanting to intrude.
