A small bookshop nestled in one of the arches beneath the stands catches your eye. Papyrus scrolls (volumina) are scattered around the shelves, and you see several round leather containers (capsae) that hold still more scrolls.
You also see a small lead curse tablet that has rolled into the corner of a shelf and a rather large, if battered, tombstone with a carved inscription. You are amazed to realize that all of these writings have some connection with the Circus.
