Mosaic

From your chair you examine the MOSAIC that fills the floor of the exedra. The emblema in the center is opus vermiculatum, with tesserae so small they are hardly distinguishable from each other. The image makes you think of the ocean, with the waves extending in all directions. The colors are so vibrant, mostly blues, greens, and greys. Such excellent work is hard to find these days, especially with all of the repair needed after the earthquake.
