Under the corner of the lectus you spot some SHOES. These appear to be sandals that were recently cleaned, the leather looks newly tanned. You don't see anything but sandals, not surprising since it's the middle of summer. With the heat and the dust in Stabiae, anything but sandals would be unbearable right now.
