You are standing in the Area Capitolina in front of the great Julio-Claudian dynastic monument, the Ara Gentis Iuliae ("Altar of the Julian Clan"). You notice a large, elaborate relief sculpture, which appears to depict some sort of religious ceremony. This plan will show you the location of the Altar in relation to the Temple of Jupiter.
