Philosophus

Philosophus here is holding one of his favorite scrolls. Besides philosophy, he is fond of good literature, is an avid reader and a bit of a stickler for properly used Latin. He understands English, of course, but do make sure that you have brushed up on your Latin lately... In order to speak to him, type activate philosophus.

Remember, however, to begin every question you address to him with a quotation mark <"> and end it with a question mark or else he is going either to ignore you or send you away with a polite but stern "Vale!" (another one of his infinite quirks).

To help you with the conversation, ask him what he thinks about good intentions, difficulties in young people's life, young people in general, his perception of time, children and parents, slaves and masters, the meaning of life, the good life, love, happiness, etc. He is also an avid collector of American state mottoes; you can ask him, for example, the motto of Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, Colorado, Connecticut, Idaho, Kansas, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Mississippi, Missouri, Oklahoma, Virginia, and Washington, and he will be happy to oblige you.
