Jupiter
I am Jupiter Optimus Maximus. You know what that means, don't you -- "the best and the greatest"! This is the most important temple in Rome, and I am definitely the boss here, even if I do have to share this temple with two goddesses. My daughter Minerva, on my right, is properly deferential and has never given me a moment's trouble, but I wish I weren't stuck with my "dear" wife and sister, Juno, on the other side. She thinks she's as powerful as I am and is constantly talking back to me. Worst of all, she keeps trying to get around my decrees, which (as you know if you've read Vergil's great epic the Aeneid) are equivalent to Fate.
Click on her name to hear what she has to say for herself, but don't forget what I've just said. She will tell you how to eavesdrop on a typical conversation between us, using the words that Vergil wrote for us (that poet was a genius and really appreciated how much I have to put up with living next to her!)
