Dido's Banquet, Vergilius Romanus, fol. 100v
Dido welcomes Aeneas and gives a splendid banquet for the Trojans, shown here in one of the Vatican manuscripts of Vergil's Aeneid. During the banquet, Dido falls in love with Aeneas and afterwards cannot stop thinking about him.
