You enter the office of the Urban Prefect (praefectus urbi) with some trepidation. Our esteemed emperor, Antoninus Pius, recently appointed Quintus Lollius Urbicus to this very powerful position in recognition of his past service to the Empire in the province of Britannia, where he subdued the savage tribes of Scotland and built the Antonine Wall. In fact, you can't help but notice on the wall of his office the very large copy of a relief and inscription commemorating the building of the easternmost part of that wall by the army under his command, the Legio II Augusta.
Urbicus is known to be a tough administrator, and his current position gives him considerable power in running the city, including control of all leasing of public land. You will need all your wits about you to bargain with him!
