The Titus aquaduct inscription reads "Imp Titus Caesar Divi F Vespasianus Aug Pontif Max Tribunicae Potest IX Imp XV Cens Cos VII Desig IIX rivom aquae Marciae vetustate dilapsum refecit et aquam quae in usu esse desierat reduxit." Since there are many standard abbreviations in this inscription, a list of their full text and meaning follows.

In translation it reads "Commander Titus Caesar Vespasian Augustus, son of the Divine Vespasian, High Priest, with tribuniacal power nine times, victorious in battle fifteen times, Censor, Consul seven times, Consul designate eight times, repaired the water course of the Marcian aquaduct crumbling by old age and returned to use the aquaduct which had been out of order."
